Helping Professionals 2-Day Workshop

When:  Friday and Saturday, August 10th & 11th, 2018; 9am - 4pm each day
Where:  353 Park Marina Circle (Park Marina Center for Wellbeing)
Cost: $400 ($495 with 12 CE's)
What's included:  Materials, snacks and beverages - Lunch on your own

Using Concepts from both curriculums, we will utilize the metaphor of standing in our arena as a helping professional to explore how we armor up from our vulnerabilities, putting us at risk for empathic failure - the number one reason we can fail in 'shame' work with our clients and suffer from compassion fatigue in our own lives.

Braving the Wilderness of Life: OPEN GROUP

An ongoing group exploring the vulnerabilities of life and how we can solidify the relationship with ourselves - the most important relationship of all.  We will meet every other Thursday and will take our time exploring concepts of trust building (self and others), self-compassion, unpacking the stories we tell ourselves about our lives, and addressing the armors of perfectionism, busy-ness, and over-functioning.

Where:  353 Park Marina Circle (Park Marina Center for Wellbeing)

When: 10am-Noon every other Thursday.

Cost:  $40 per session per person (Billable for those with Partnership Insurance)

* Schedule for the year:

Next meet up will be 7/19, 8/2, 8/16, 8/30, 9/6 (9/20 will be skipped due to an out of town training I have) 10/4, 10/18, 11/1, 11/15, 11/29, 12/13.  We will stop there to allow for Holiday festivities and busy-ness.  Schedule for 2019 will be posted Winter 2018.

Please be aware these workshops provide continuing education for helping professionals in regards to specified concepts and are not programs for training to be a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator.  Trainings for certification are only provided by The Daring Way™ organization.  Visit www.thedaringway.com for more information.

3-Day Intensive Rising Strong Workshop

When:  October 12th, 13th and 14th, 2018

Friday 5pm-9pm, Saturday 9am-5pm & Sunday 9am-2pm
Where:  353 Park Marina Circle (Park Marina Center for Wellbeing)
Cost: $600 ($695 with 14 CE's)
What's included:  Materials, snacks and beverages - Lunch on your own

This 3-day workshop is based on concepts from Brené Brown's best seller, Rising Strong.  The curriculum helps identify the narratives that form our lives, clarifying the stories we make up in our head derived from fear beliefs about scarcity and judgment. By the end, we will identify key learnings and write a brave new story of who we are and how we want to live.

These workshops require your time, willingness and focus on the work.  We are exploring shame and vulnerability, sharing personal stories, and sitting in the deep emotions with others.  It is important to enter these workshops with a focus on self care that includes as restful, restorative and supportive environment as possible.  If you are in acute and ongoing crisis in your life, we recommend individual work first; allowing yourself time for some healing before doing this deeper group work.

What to expect at a workshop:

Workshops are co-facilitated by Jenni Odell and DaLene Forester, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists.  We keep our small group sizes limited to no more than 10 participants in order to maintain an intimate, safe environment for learning and processing.  Workshops are a combination of visual mediums, facilitator-introduced concepts, discussions/sharing and highly experiential activities.

You will receive a workbook of the curriculum (some events include a separate keepsake booklet) as well as snacks and drinks for breaks.  We provide all supplies needed for onsite experiential activities, and we work hard to make the space comfortable, providing an open space for seating and the allowance for participants to bring any additional items they may need for comfort.  The goal is for the focus to be on the work and for participants to feel nourished and supported during their time.

The Daring Way (TM) is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brene Brown.  The method was developed to help men, women, and adolescents learn how to show up, be seen, and live braver lives.  The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent and lead.  It can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings and is suitable for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders.
